Next winter, Sidy will be facilitating a once in a lifetime experience in Bamako, Mali. For 2 weeks, we will take classes, play drums, dance, and live together in Bamako. We will be invited to social events in the area so we can check out the culture of this beautiful country first hand. Plus we'll travel to villages off the beaten track to really get to know the people of Mali. This is a 'can't miss' opportunity.
Trip dates: January 5th through the 16th, 2009
Fee: $2200, includes up 3 drum or dance classes a day plus accommodations, group ground transportation and food. Does not include airfare.
A deposit of $1000 is due by November 15th, 2008.
Travel information:
If you are traveling from the United States, you will need a visa, which is available from the Malian Embassy. The current fee is $131 US. If you are traveling from another country, check the Embassy for visa requirements.
A yellow fever vaccination is required for travelers returning to the United States. The best place to get that is your local travel clinic. If you need help finding one, please let me know.
For Americans, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has a list of recommended immunizations.
