Sidy offers intensive workshops which immerse students in the complex and beautiful rhythms of West Africa.
The workshops cover proper hand techniques as well as the cultural context of drumming in Mali. We also explore the essential elements that make up an African rhythm, including the break, accompaniments and solo phrases. By the end of the class, students play together as an ensemble. Finally, Sidy demonstrates some of his unique soloing skills.
These workshops can be arranged at your location! For more information about scheduling one, please email Rachel.

Kids often learn best by doing. A workshop with Sidy is a great way for students to learn about rhythm, patterns and the culture of Mali and West Africa. Whether you have 10 students or 300, Sidy can work out a program that will accommodate your needs.
For corporate or business programs, Sidy will come to your business with drums and percussion instruments and facilitate a relaxed, fun, engaging program that will encourage teambuilding and collaboration. Each drum has it's own voice. When people play together, they learn to listen and interact with each other in a supportive way. Music is fun! Sidy can come for an hour, a half day or a full day session.
